LifePoint Hospitals buys Woods Memorial in Etowah, Tenn.

LifePoint Hospitals has finalized its acquisition of Woods Memorial Hospital in Etowah, Tenn.

The facility, which includes the 72-bed hospital and an 88-bed nursing home, becomes LifePoint’s 56th hospital campus across the country and the Brentwood, Tenn.-based company’s 11th facility in the state. The terms of the agreement weren’t disclosed.

As part of the acquisition, Woods will partner with nearby Athens Regional Medical Center to strengthen regional health care delivery in McMinn County and surrounding areas, according to LifePoint.
