Thirteen Baylor School boys and girls are listed as National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association All-Americans for the 2011-12 school year. No school in the country has more.
Kristen Vredeveld was an All-American in five events in her junior year and had the No. 1 girls' 50 freestyle time in the United States as well as being part of the top 200 and 400 free relays with Bria Deveaux, Kimberlee John-Williams and Ashley Yearwood. They set a national high school record in the 200, in fact.
Vredeveld also had All-American times in the 100 and 200 free events.
Classmate John-Williams was an All-American in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke, and departed seniors Deveaux and Yearwood were 50 free All-Americans. Yearwood also was part of an All-American 200 medley relay with Hannah Peiffer and Mikaya Reynolds. Peiffer was another 100 back honoree.
Christian Carbone closed out his Baylor career as an All-American in the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke and in the 200 medley relay with classmate Matthew Chen and sophomores Lucas Kaliszak and Dustin Tynes and in the 400 free relay with sophomores Sam McHugh and Chandler Hinson and freshman Joey Carbone.
McHugh had All-American times also in the 200 and 500 free and with Chen, Kaliszak and the younger Carbone in the 200 free relay, and Kaliszak was honored also for 100 fly and 100 back.
