Hamilton County: Man's body found in wooded area

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a man whose body was found in the 9000 block of Ooltewah-Georgetown Road.

The body was found about 11 a.m. Tuesday in a wooded area, according to a statement from sheriff's office spokeswoman Janice Atkinson.

Investigators are waiting for the medical examiner to determine a cause of death and identify the body, she said.

Police recover stolen property

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office has recovered property that is believed to be from 23 reported thefts in the 6800 block of Captains Way in Hixson.

A witness reported seeing passengers of a small brown truck approaching vehicles in the neighborhood, according to a statement from Atkinson. Deputies located the truck and recovered the property.

No arrests have been made.
