'Mad Men' leads pack in Emmy nominations

LOS ANGELES (AP) - "Mad Men" and "American Horror Story" are leading the Emmy pack.

"Mad Men" received 17 Emmy nominations today and a chance to set a record as the most-honored drama series in TV history. Stars Jon Hamm and Elisabeth Moss are up for lead acting honors.

The nominations for best television drama are: "Boardwalk Empire," ''Breaking Bad," ''Downton Abbey," ''Game of Thrones," ''Homeland" and "Mad Men."

Nominations for best actress in a television drama series are: Glenn Close, "Damages"; Michelle Dockery, "Downton Abbey"; Julianna Margulies, "The Good Wife"; Kathy Bates, "Harry's Law"; Claire Danes, "Homeland"; and Elisabeth Moss, "Mad Men."

For best actor in a television drama series the nominees are: Steve Buscemi, "Boardwalk Empire"; Bryan Cranston, "Breaking Bad"; Michael C. Hall, "Dexter"; Hugh Bonneville, "Downton Abbey"; Damian Lewis, "Homeland"; and Jon Hamm, "Mad Men."

For best television miniseries or movies the nominees are: "American Horror Story," ''Game Change," ''Hatfields & McCoys," ''Hemingway & Gellhorn," ''Luther" and "Sherlock: A Scandal in Belgravia."

For best television comedy series the nominees are: "The Big Bang Theory," ''Curb Your Enthusiasm," ''Girls," ''Modern Family," ''30 Rock" and "Veep."
