Hamilton County Schools students saw improvement on all state test subject areas in the latest results released today by state officials.

The Tennessee Department of Education released Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program, or TCAP, scores for grades 3 through 8 in math, reading, science and social studies along with high school end-of-course exams.

The results include only district-level information, not school-by-school results. State officials said that data would be released later.

Statewide, schools saw the largest growth in testing history.

"The widespread improvement shows that efforts to raise student outcomes are working in many districts," Tennessee Education Commissioner Kevin Huffman said in a statement.

"Our students, teachers and administrators worked incredibly hard, and we are gratified that so many districts were able to significantly grow results."
