Authorities say suspected killer Adolph “Sonny” Neal has been transported from the hospital and is now booked into jail.
Neal, 49, has been charged with two counts of malice murder and is in custody at Whitfield County Jail, said GBI agent Dan Sims.
Neal, who was on the run for a week, was taken to Hamilton Medical Center on Thursday afternoon after police found him hiding in the woods in Varnell, Ga. He was treated for scrapes and other minor injuries as well as dehydration from being out in the elements, Sims said.
Police believe that, on May 24, believe Neal killed his wife, Jessica, and her grandfather, Donald Shedd, at their home then fled.
