A bike share program new to Chattanooga has kicked off today with a testing phase.

Chattanooga announced this morning in a press release that bicycles are now out at stations for a select group of people - those who've already signed up and paid for a yearly membership in the program.

The city announced the bike share program more than a month ago and, when it's up and running, users will be able to rent bikes from stations and ride them across the city.

The service is still not open to the general public and the press release does not state when it will be available for everyone.
