Baby, baby, baby no

The principal at Edna Cohen School, a public school in New York, won't let pupils sing the Lee Greenwood anthem "God Bless the USA" at the ceremony marking their moving on to higher grades. Teachers said the principal forbade the song, saying, "We don't want to offend other cultures."

The youngsters will, however, be allowed to sing "Baby," by one Justin Bieber.

For purposes of comparison, "God Bless the USA" includes lyrics such as:

"If tomorrow all the things were gone

I'd worked for all my life

And I had to start again

With just my children and my wife,

I'd thank my lucky stars

To be living here today

'Cause the flag still stands for freedom

And they can't take that away.

"And I'm proud to be an American

Where at least I know I'm free

And I won't forget the men who died

Who gave that right to me ... ."

Then there's Bieber's "Baby," which tells listeners of approximately that age:

"Are we an item? Girl, quit playing.

We're just friends. What are you saying?

Is there another? Look right in my eyes.

My first love broke my heart for the first time,

And I was like

"Baby, baby, baby oh.

Like baby, baby, baby no.

Like baby, baby, baby oh ... ."

Hard to say exactly which "cultures" in New York are offended by patriotism. But it would be nice if somebody saved a little pity for parents who are going to have to listen to that Bieber piffle -- and, like, children who are going to have to wade through it.

Have you seen the reaction to this decision?

In one of the shocking notes Hawkins is described as 'a filthy, dirty, ugly subhuman gorilla', while another reads: 'N** and their Jew commie bosses are the scum of the earth'. The third is equally horrific, reading: 'Let’s hope that AIDS will do what sickle cell anemia failed to do, exterminate your whole simian race.' And it didn't stop there. A Facebook page calling for her to be fired is filled with similarly offensive messages. One user, Johnny Mula, posted: 'If you don’t like the USA You can get the f out, you commie piece of s***,' the New York Daily News reported.

Who was calling for civility earlier? Where's that to be found?

A fine example of liberal indoctrination by a government school. Government teachers are brainwashing our student into hating America. This is heard over and over again. There is no way I would send a child to a public school to have them brainwashed by some government controlled, union, socialist minded teacher.

The most blatant example of racism today is the thoughts liberals/democrats have that blacks cannot make it on their own without the help of the government. That is absolutely inexcusable.

Look at yourself and your failed agenda to help blacks. It is right there in front of you. I have not a racist bone or thought in my body but you damn sure do with your false beliefs that government can rescue the blacks and everyone else. You are such a liar.

You liberals exploit and manipulate the black population and treat them like they are stupid. You dangle carrots in front of blacks (welfare, reparations, etc). It's the reason why the black community hasn't risen to the heights that they are capable of-the Liberals have convinced them that they are victims and that they can't get ahead with hard work, that they deserve a handout. But the system is the new slavery, offering people enough to eek out a minimal living. What a waste of resources! Black people are as smart if not smarter in some respects than whites. If they valued education, where would our nation be today? You should be ashamed of yourself easy123 for thinking blacks are stupid you racist POS.

But liberals know that if blacks were educated they may not be so inclined to vote for them. So keeping them "in their place" has a great value.

Lee Greenwood's song is nothing but overly sentimental tripe. My personal feelings about it aside, though,I don't know why this principal felt compelled to ban it from being sung (sounds like there's a great deal of multi-cultural diversity at her school, perhaps?).

As for Bieber, well, I can offer nothing in his defense, either. Like Greenwood, the guy's got his own brand of talent, I guess, but whereas one offers up nothing but saccharine, Hallmark-caliber, countrified sentiment, the other just cranks out cheap adolescent cookie-cutter pop lyrics and melodies.

All in all, this entire article is about as needless and uninteresting as either of these two singers or their songs. The editor must have been hard up for something to write about.

Once again, you provide no proof that anyone thinks the way you say they do and YOUR racism is no longer hidden at this point.

Pray tell, what does that even mean?? Do you have a clue what you're talking about? You make no sense whatsoever. You crank out anti-liberal sentiment like Bieber or Greenwood write songs - just because they think it sounds good rolling off their tongues (but not to compare your garbage to music of any form). What is "inexcusable," sir, is the BS that constantly flows from your brain to your mouth or the keyboard of your computer.
