NASHVILLE - Cleveland's new regional airport has been awarded a $139,500 grant by the state Transportation Department's Aeronautics Division, the department announced today.

The money, coupled with $15,500 in local funds, will go toward installation of security for the terminal area.

In a news release, Transportation Department officials said federal and state aeronautics grants totaling $8.7 million were approved for nine airports across the state.

The Cleveland Regional Jetport is scheduled to replace the 60-year-old Hardwick Field late in the year.
