Lake Winnepesaukah

Sunday, January 1, 1905

Lake Winnepesaukah will be open Independence Day, but you don't have to wait until Wednesday to see fireworks explode over the Cannon Ball. The North Georgia amusement park will offer its annual pyrotechnics display Saturday too. The shows start when the park at closes at 10 p.m. both days.

According to Lake Winnie officials, many families pack picnic baskets to enjoy during their day at the park. In addition to these repasts in the shaded picnic grove, rides such as the Boat Chute and Pipeline Plunge are popular on the hottest days. There's also a playground called Chill Down Kidtown filled with interactive misters and water elements for cooling off.

Lake Winnepesaukah is at 1730 Lakeview Drive. Through July, the park is open every day except Mondays and Tuesdays. Hours are noon-10 p.m. Sundays, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. other days.

Unlimited rides are $26; children ages 1-2 and seniors 65 and older pay $10 per person. Ticket packages also are available.
