Chattanooga man shot in face

A 44-year-old Chattanooga man was shot in the face Thursday during what appeared to be an attempted robbery, authorities said.

Terry McNabb was shot at 909 Curleque Drive in Brainerd, said Officer Nathan Hartwig, spokesman for the Chattanooga Police Department. He was taken to Erlanger hospital for surgery, but the wound is not life-threatening, Hartwig said.

Two suspects are described as black males who were last seen running out of the neighborhood, Hartwig said.

The incident happened about 3:30 p.m. but no further details are being released yet, he said.

19 year-old man found dead in car

The body of a 19-year-old Chattanooga man was found Thursday evening with no signs of physical trauma, authorities said.

Police were called near 4819 Bellbrook Drive at 5:08 p.m. after neighbors saw the body inside a car that had been parked there overnight. Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The man did not live at the address near the car and there are no known ties to that address, said officer Nathan Hartwig.

The case is still under investigation, Hartwig said.
