The Lookout Mountain Incline Railway is reopening today, officials say.

The incline, the steepest passenger railway in the world and one of Chattanooga's most visited tourist attractions, had been closed since late winter for seasonal repairs and the replacement of a retaining wall near the tracks,

"Over the last few seasons, we have made seasonal repairs to the Incline to maximize the safety of the attraction for the hundreds of thousands of passengers we entertain each year," said Tom Dugan, executive director for CARTA, in a prepared statement.
