Suspect in Chattanooga shooting, Xavier Tyrone Burdette, is arrested

Police say they've located a man accused of shooting his girlfriend and charged him with attempted murder.

Xavier Tyrone Burdette, 37, also is charged with aggravated assault in the Monday shooting of his girlfriend Connie Freeman, 29, who is expected to survive a gunshot wound to her shoulder and neck area, said Chattanooga police spokesman Officer Nathan Hartwig.

Burdette was arrested about 7:40 p.m. Tuesday in a home on Dodson Avenue, Hartwig said.
