Jackson County woman Helen Hartline, 61, arrested on marijuana possession charge

A 61-year-old Alabama woman has been charged with having more than a pound of marijuana in her home, authorities said.

Helen Hartline, of Rosalie, Ala., was arrested and charged with first-degree possession of marijuana, three counts of possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia and certain persons forbidden to possess a pistol, according to a news release from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.

She was arrested Monday after authorities searched a home on County Road 358 and found about 1.35 pounds of marijuana, alprazolam, diazepam and oxycodone, two firearms, drug paraphernalia and more than $1,200 in cash, the release said.

Hartline was placed in the Jackson County Jail on a bond of $15,000.
