Investigators with the Chattanooga Police Department have named two suspects involved in the weekend shooting death of one man and the injury of another.

Police say they are on the lookout for Derrick Smith, 21, and Joshua Lackey, 23, who are wanted in connection with a Saturday morning shooting at 4009 Fagan St.

The shooting killed 25-year-old Jabari Jennings and wounded 24-year-old Lawande Haggard in the leg, according to Chattanooga Police Chief Bobby Dodd.

Smith and Lackey face charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, police said.

All four men involved are either gang members or associated with gangs, police said, but the incident was not related to a rival gang conflict, said police spokesman Officer Nathan Hartwig.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the Chattanooga Police Department at 423-698-2525 or Crime Stoppers at 423-698-3333.
