Taft Youth Center, located north of Pikeville, Tenn.

Tennessee Department of Children's Services spokeswoman Molly Sudderth today confirmed that Taft Youth Center employees soon will be receiving 90-day notices that their jobs will end as of July 1.

The first of July is a tentative closure date if Gov. Bill Haslam's budget passes without funding for the Bledsoe County facility.

The department says the notices are being given in anticipation that the budget will not fund the facility, so they are trying to time employees' release from Taft with hiring at the Bledsoe County Correctional Complex next door.

Taft is located in northwest Bledsoe County about 15 miles from Pikeville.
