Chattanooga: Erlanger names interim medical officer

Erlanger has named a well-known emergency medicine physician as its interim chief medical officer just days after Cy Huffman abruptly resigned from the position, a news release stated.

Dr. James Creel has been appointed to serve in the position beginning May 14, according to a statement from Erlanger’s interim CEO Charlesetta Woodard-Thompson.

Creel currently serves as medical director of Erlanger’s emergency and disaster services, according to the hospital statement.

Creek also is the medical director of Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services.
