GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga softball team wrapped up yet another three-game Southern Conference sweep on Sunday, beating UNC Greensboro 7-1 and 6-3 to wrap up the regular season.

UTC (37-14, 20-2 SoCon) failed to win the league regular season title for the first time since 2006, finishing behind Georgia Southern, which swept Furman this weekend to clinch the title, and the Lady Mocs will be the No. 2 seed when the conference tournament begins Wednesday in Boone, N.C.

Sunday's opener was the completion of a Saturday game that was postponed because of rain. UTC got home runs from junior Kasey Tydingco and seniors Michelle Fuzzard and Jessica Traxler to give Fuzzard her 15th pitching win of the season.

UTC set a new school record with 100 doubles for the season.

Tydinco had five RBIs in the win, and right fielder Stephanie Reick had three hits.

In the second game, the Spartans (21-32, 10-2) took a 1-0 lead in the third inning before UTC responded with a run in the fourth and four runs in the fifth on a grand slam by catcher Vivian Morimoto.

Freshman pitcher Taylor Deason struck out four to pick up her SoCon-leading 22nd win of the season.
