The W Road will be closed tomorrow morning starting at 8 a.m. near the base of the road, close to Mountain Creek Road.
Commuters who normally come down the W road will have to take Taft Highway to come off Signal Mountain.
The road is expected to be closed all day tomorrow and it is not expected to be open in time for evening drive traffic.
The highway department anticipates finishing the project before dusk Tuesday and regular traffic patterns will be able to resume on Wednesday.
