Hays State Prison is located just east of U.S. Highway 27, in Trion Ga.

A Hays State Prison inmate was hospitalized after he got into a fight with another inmate Monday, officials said.

One inmate was treated at a local hospital and returned to the maximum-security prison the same day, Department of Corrections spokeswoman Gwendolyn Hogan said.

She didn't release the names of the inmates or respond to questions on whether anyone was charged in the fight.
