Four members of Troop 3 named new Eagle Scouts

Four members of Troop 3, which meets at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ooltewah, recently earned Eagle Scout rank. The four were honored with a Court of Honor held in the historic Ringgold Depot in Ringgold, Ga.

• Cameron Wolfe, son of Darrin and Jennifer Wolfe, is a junior at East Hamilton Middle-High School, where he is a member of the cross-country and wrestling teams and an honor student.

For the community service project required of every Eagle Scout, he did landscaping and maintenance work at a nature habitat on the grounds of Westview Elementary School. The Scout planted new greenery, mulched, installed bird feeders and did other improvement projects.

• Will Gurley is the son of Bob and Jovanna Gurley. He is a freshman at Ringgold High School, where he is a member of the swim team, several clubs and an honor student.

For his service project, he completed landscaping at Tiger Creek Elementary School, planting bushes to form the letters TCE to boost school pride.

• Tanner Tidwell, son of Bruce and Dana Tidwell, is also a freshman at Ringgold High School, where he is a member of the drum line, Future Business Leaders of America and an honor student.

The Scout built a covered pavilion for a local nursing home as his service project.

• Travis Owens, son of Dr. Gene and Terri Owens, is a member of the class of 2012 at Ringgold High School. At RHS, he played football and basketball and was an honor student.

For his service project, he made benches and cleared trails for the Elsie Holmes nature park.
