DAYTON, Tenn. - At least one person was killed and another sustained unknown but serious injuries today when their motorcycles collided with a car on U.S. Highway 27 North, authorities said.

Eyewitnesses said the motorcyclists, members of the Defiant Crew from either Tennessee or Georgia, were traveling north about 3 p.m. when a white, late-model Grand Am turned in front of them on Black Oak Ridge Road.

"One woman flew in the air, and the other driver landed under a truck," according to an eyewitness who was waiting at the Black Oak Ridge Road traffic light. He didn't want his name used.

One victim's Defiant Crew Tennessee badge, with the identification of "Doc," lay in the street near the accident.

Dayton Police Chief Chris Sneed said more information will be available once investigators have interviewed witnesses and gathered evidence.
