A Chattanooga woman faces a charge of criminal homicide after the death of an elderly man she confessed to beating more than two months ago.
A man, 38-year-old John Moncier, also has been charged with criminal homicide in the case.
Police believe that, on March 18, Jennifer Streeval, 32, punched Garner Isbill and dragged him down a flight of concrete stairs at the Motel 6 on Lee Highway. Police found the 76 year-old man naked in a pool of blood at the motel, according to the arrest report.
Streeval originally said she beat Isbill because someone had told her that he had molested her young daughter.
At the time of the incident, police said they thought Streeval had help in the beating.
Isbill recently died and the charges against Streeval have been upgraded from attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault to criminal homicide.
She will appear before Hamilton County General Sessions Court Judge Christine Mahn Sell on June 11.
On July 18, she is scheduled to appear before Criminal Court Judge Barry Steelman on a charge of aggravated domestic assault.
Motel 6 officials could not be reached for comment.
