Three arrested in Dalton on robbery charges

The Dalton Police department arrested three men on robbery charges this week after two incidents of purse snatching Tuesday.

Robert Deel, 26, Troy Petruzzi, 17, and Justin Officer, 22, were charged with robbery by forcible purse snatching and criminal attempt to commit a misdemeanor.

One purse-snatching incident happened at the Kroger on West Walnut Avenue, police said. A woman was sitting on a bench when two men approached her and one asked for a cigarette. When she reached for the cigarette, the man grabbed her purse instead and ran away.

Video surveillance footage from a neighbor showed the men leaving in a small, silver two-door car. A Dalton police detective spotted the vehicle involved in the crimes and followed it to the suspects, police said.
