Po, the panda, turns 2 at Zoo Atlanta

ATLANTA — Po, the giant panda cub at Zoo Atlanta, celebrates his second birthday Saturday.

Zookeepers plan a number of treats for the not-so-little guy. They say bamboo and an ice cake are on the menu.

Po’s mother, Lun Lun, gave birth to the tiny, furless cub in the early morning of Nov. 3, 2010. The cub now weighs more than 100 pounds, and he’s covered with black and white fur in the characteristic panda patterns.

The zoo says Po and Lun Lun are set to celebrate at 2 p.m. at the Arthur M. Blank Foundation Giant Panda Conservation Center.\
