Statistically, the overwhelming majority of Republicans reject any and all assertions that the burning of fossil fuels is responsible for climatic change.

Statistically, religious conservatives are most likely to vote Republican, and every time I pass a filled church parking lot, the majority of vehicles parked on those lots are not 4-bangers, hybrids, and an electric vehicle is nowhere to be seen.

The problem with most Americans, especially those who vote for Republicans, is that they never think about tomorrow, in terms of the air we breathe or the water we drink. Statistically, they dismiss in overwhelming numbers, years of scientific studies, not to mention pure common sense, that the by-products of burning trillions of gallons of fossil fuels over the past century, has negative consequences on our Earth.

In my humble opinion and again statistically, the average Republican is not keen on planning for eventualities. They live for today, for now, putting out of mind that which is unpleasant, and would never endorse anything that will cost them a little more to preserve this Earth for future generations.

Religious Conservatives don't believe in conservation. Perhaps they think that prayer will replenish dwindling oil reserves. They probably think that God has a hand in all these more recent deadly weather events as punishment for certain perceived sins. Perhaps they are convinced more than ever, that the end of time is near, so there is no need to think of tomorrow at all.

Many people will never wake up until it's all gone. When the entire world resembles the states of N.J and N.Y. this week, with massive lines clamoring for those few, final drops of gasoline, will some decide that we need alternative energy plans in place.

Ohio's Husted: The Man Who Never Gives Up

Husted has issued a directive that could limit which provisional ballots are counted:

*The directive, issued Friday, lays out the requirements for submitting a provisional ballot. The directive includes a form which puts the burden on the voter to correctly record the form of ID provided to election officials. Husted also instructed election officials that if the form is not filled out correctly by a voter, the ballot should not be counted.*

Voting rights advocates believe this is contrary to a recent court decision and indeed to Ohio law which requires election officials to record the ID provided by the voter. They have filed a lawsuit which is expected to be resolved before November 17, when provisional ballots will be counted.

Board member Robert Huffman Jr. says he's confident the ballot verification process would prevent those people from voting twice.

Late Night for Voters in Florida

In a work-around to an early-voting crackdown law, the Miami-Dade elections headquarters will open Sunday afternoon to allow voters to request and cast absentee ballots in person.

The elections department announced the change Sunday morning, after the Florida Democratic Party filed a lawsuit in the wee hours seeking to somehow extend voting in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties before Election Day . . . According to the lawsuit, “inadequate polling facilities” in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach led to lines in some cases between six and seven hours long — longer than elsewhere in the state, the lawsuit says.

Voters in line when the polls closed at 7 p.m. were allowed to vote; Miami-Dade checked in its last voter at around 1 a.m. Sunday morning.

UPDATE: Florida Shuts Headquarters to Voters

The department had opened its Doral headquarters from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. as a work-around to an early-voting crackdown law.

The Bible is not known for connecting dots much of the time, but when Abraham was demanded by God to sacrifice Isaac, which can be read in detail in Genesis 22:1-12, and as was recanted in Hebrews 11 along with examples of others who have demonstrated immense gestures of devotion to God, Ishmael simply might not have been born yet.

It is after all, factually established that Isaac was born first.

Therefore, at the time that he was asked to sacrifice Isaac to God, it is completely plausible that Isaac may have, at that time, indeed been Abraham's only begotten Son.

My campaign today will be traveling from Florida to Virginia to Ohio. I was not originally planning to visit Ohio again, as my campaign has decided I do not like them anymore, but I insisted that if I was going to be doing so much traveling to those other states than the least we could do is make a brief stop to visit with Mr. Bus once again. As for tomorrow, I had planned to spend the better part of tomorrow savoring my victory, but the staff has evidently scheduled still more campaign appearances. Apparently these commoners need constant encouragement if they are to vote for me. When I am president, one of my first actions after adjusting the tax rates for wealthy Americans will be to form a committee to establish the best ways of further discouraging these commoners from voting. To be blunt, their minds are too scattered for it. It requires too many individual campaign events and rallies, and it could all be done far more efficiently by merely allowing only wealth units to vote, then bundling the votes from wealth units into leveraged products that would represent all the other votes. Then financial companies could purchase and sell those packages of votes, which would be quite profitable. (If my past businesses experiences have taught me anything, Mr. Diary, it is that there is very little that cannot be made more profitable by removing commoners from the process.)
