ATHENS, Ga. - Georgia freshman tailback Todd Gurley collected his sixth collegiate 100-yard rushing game in Saturday's 37-10 thumping of Ole Miss.

Gurley rushed 18 times for 117 yards, reaching triple digits on a 31-yard run in the fourth quarter. That set up the final touchdown for the Bulldogs, which was a 23-yard pass from Aaron Murray to Rantavious Wooten.

"I didn't even know I had 100 yards," Gurley said. "Even when I had that long one, it was tough. We kept pounding and pounding, and I was just happy to see my teammates scoring and having a good time."

The 6-foot-1, 218-pounder has 857 yards this season and is closing in on becoming Georgia's first 1,000-yard rusher since Knowshon Moreno had 1,400 as a redshirt sophomore in 2008. Gurley already has surpassed last year's rushing total by Isaiah Crowell, who totaled 850 yards in his lone season with the Bulldogs.

Scoring brothers

Junior fullback Alexander Ogletree scored his first career touchdown for the Bulldogs on an 8-yard run with 9:17 left in the third quarter, giving Georgia a 28-10 lead. His day became even more special when junior inside linebacker Alec Ogletree, his twin, recorded a safety in the final minute of the same period by tackling Rebels tailback Jeff Scott in the end zone.

"We've been playing together our whole lives, and to do this at a place like the University of Georgia is just overwhelming," Alexander said. "Our parents pushed us to where we are today. It's just a blessing."

Said Alec: "It's a great feeling, and I know our parents are happy for us. I'm really happy for him scoring his first touchdown, because I know it's been a difficult time waiting."

Sacks everywhere

After not giving up any sacks last week against Florida, the Bulldogs allowed five in the first half against Ole Miss. Sophomore defensive end C.J. Johnson, who was a Parade All-American and the top prep player in the state of Mississippi in 2011, had 1.5 sacks and became a quick headache for Bulldogs offensive coordinator Mike Bobo.

"He's an excellent player with tremendous speed off the edge, but we got in too many third-and-longs," Bobo said. "He was able to pin his ears back and did a nice job in getting to the quarterback. In the second half, we threw it more on first and second down and had more calls to get the ball out quicker."

Junior guard Chris Burnette suffered a left shoulder contusion in the first half, which resulted in left tackle Kenarious Gates moving inside and Mark Beard replacing Gates. The Bulldogs did not allow any second-half sacks.

"We knew they were going to be quick off the line, but we just need to sustain our blocks longer," Gates said. "We had to come in at halftime and just calm down."

Odds and ends

Senior receiver Marlon Brown suffered a left knee injury in the third quarter and did not return. ... Freshman punter Collin Barber had a 60-yard kick in the first quarter, topping his previous season high of 57 set in the opener against Buffalo. ... Sophomore safety Corey Moore got his first career start, but it was on offense as a receiver. ... The Bulldogs improved to 32-12-1 against Ole Miss and to 72-17-2 on homecoming.
