The traffic signal at the intersection of Gunbarrel Road and Hamilton Place Boulevard will be turned off for utility work between 9 a.m. and noon Wednesday, according to a news release from the Chattanooga traffic engineer’s office.
A police officer will be directing traffic during the outage. Drivers are reminded to use extra caution.
Also, Igou Gap Road between Gunbarrel Road and Skyline Drive will be closed to all traffic between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. beginning Wednesday for completion of resurfacing work. Detours will be posted using Jarnigan Road. Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.
