• "The Battle Over King David: Excavating the Fortress of Elah" is an exhibit displaying artifacts from the remains at the Fortress of Elah, which are on loan from the National Treasure of Israel at the Lynn H. Wood Archaeological Museum in Collegedale. The exhibit complements the museum's permanent installation, a display of 200 ancient artifacts titled "Vessels in Time: A Journey Into the Biblical World." • Chattanooga artist Cessna Decosimo displays his series, "The Sacred and the Profane," at the Tanner/Hill Galleries, 3069 S. Broad St., Suite 3, and Warehouse Row, 1110 Market St., through Jan. 11. Decosimo works in painting, drawing and sculpture. For more information, call 280-7182.

• The work of Paul Stankard, who creates glass art with a botanical theme, will be on display at the Hunter Museum of American Art, 10 Bluff View, from Dec. 8 until April 21.
