Georgia redshirt junior quarterback Aaron Murray has asked to be "relieved of interview duties this week," longtime Bulldogs media relations director Claude Felton said Monday.

Felton added that coach Mark Richt approved Murray's request.

One of the more gregarious players in the SEC, Murray has completed 71 of 97 passes (73.2 percent) for 1,137 yards the past four weeks, compiling 13 touchdowns and no interceptions. He did not attend the interview session after last Saturday's 42-10 thumping of Georgia Tech.

"I don't think it has anything to do with the media or that he's trying to send a message," said inside linebacker Christian Robinson, who is Murray's roommate. "I think he's just so dedicated this week in being prepared. I know this one means so much to him."

South Carolina and Florida are the lone ranked teams Georgia faced in the regular season, and Murray was a combined 23-of-55 passing (41.8 percent) with one touchdown and four interceptions against them.

Before the 35-7 loss at South Carolina, Bulldogs coaches made offensive linemen off limits, with the exception of guard Chris Burnette. The Gamecocks held Georgia to a season-low 224 yards.
