Palmer man charged on federal warrants with producing child porn

Palmer, Tenn.-resident Jimmy Walter Rollins has been charged on federal indictments with eight counts of child pornography production after seizure of more than 300,000 photographs and videos involving 15 region children over a 20-year period, authorities said.

Rollins, 44, of Palmer, is now in federal custody Winchester, Tenn., Police Chief Dennis Young said.

According to Young, the investigation began with Winchester detective Chris Layne, of the department's Internet Crimes Against Children unit, in May.

As the investigation developed, Layne got help from agents with Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Federal Bureau of Investigation.

According to Young, Layne identified 15 children from the Grundy County/Franklin County region who were "sexually exploited" by Rollins over the past two decades.

"Over 300,000 photos and videos were discovered during a search warrant of the defendant's residence," Young said.

Rollins faces up to 25 years in prison on each of the eight counts, authorities said.
