Emergency medical services remove the body of a man found shot to death early Saturday morning while a wrecker waits to remove his vehicle. A man was discovered shot to death in his vehicle at a gas station at the corner of Shallowford Road and North Moore Road early Saturday morning. The shooting was believed to have occurred elsewhere on Shallowford.A 27-year-old man was shot as many as four times while sitting in a vehicle in front of his home last week, according to a Hamilton County medical examiner's report released Thursday.
No arrest has been made in the slaying of Cary "K" Abram. Chattanooga police say they believe the shooting was drug-related.
Abram was sitting in a Chevrolet Impala with a couple of other people smoking marijuana when someone came up and opened fire, police said. Abram was shot in his back and left arm, according to the medical examiner's report. A woman in the car was grazed by gunfire.
Medical examiner reports also revealed more details about two other recent deaths that police say were gang-related.
• Quincy Bell, 20, was shot while driving in the 3800 block of Shallowford Road on Sept. 22. He steered the car to a nearby gas station, where he died in the driver's seat. The report shows he was shot once in his right upper back. No one has been arrested in his death. Police believe he was shot in retaliation for Barry Bowman's death.
• Bowman, 22, of Nashville, was shot Sept. 19 during an argument while was riding in an SUV in the 6300 block of Walden Avenue. The wound in the left side of his head resulted in a couple of skull fractures, according to the report. He died Sept. 23. No one has been arrested in his death.
To date this year, Chattanooga has had 63 shootings resulting in death or injury and 19 homicides.
