Chattanooga Lookouts edge Barons, clinch title

HOOVER, Ala. - Nick Buss went 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs as Chattanooga clinched the Southern League's North Division second-half title with a 6-5 win Friday night over the Birmingham Barons.

Buss singled to left field with two out in the sixth inning to score Tyler Henson and Joe Becker, and his ground-rule double to right-center in the eighth scored Henson. The Lookouts took a 2-0 lead in the first inning by loading the bases and getting RBIs by C.J. Retherford and Brahiam Maldonado.

Game three of the five-game series is tonight at 7:30 EDT. Chris Reed is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts, with Nestor Molina (5-10, 4.40) scheduled for the Barons.
