Mocs trail JSU at half

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. - The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team trails No. 24 Jacksonville State 17-7 at the half tonight at JSU Stadium.

Quarterback Jacob Huesman, in the redshirt freshman's first career start, ran for 62 yards on the Mocs' first play from scrimmage. On the last play of the first half he scored on fourth-and-1 to get the Mocs on the scoreboard.

Huesman rushed for 125 yards on 13 carries in the half and was 5-for-10 passing for 26 yards.

After his long run to start the game, UTC had to settle for a field goal attempt and Nick Pollard missed from 30 yards.

Jacksonville State kicked a field goal on its first drive and went up 10-0 after a Huesman fumble was returned 75 yards for a score. A 43-yard run by JSU's DaMarcus James put the Gamecocks up 17-0.

Keon Williams had 46 yards on 13 carries at the half and Tommy Hudson had four receptions for 20 yards.
