State appeals court rules against Littlefield recall attempt

Wednesday, September 12, 2012

The Tennessee Court of Appeals has struck down an effort to recall Mayor Ron Littlefield after a two-year court battle.

The appeals court ruled today that the groups who started the recall effort in the summer of 2010 did not have enough signatures on a petition for the recall to take place.

"It's good after two years to have validation from the Court of Appeals," said Tom Greenholtz, attorney for Littlefield.

The mayor's term ends in April 2013.
