Moses Johnson, a 6-foot guard from Decatur, Ga., has committed to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team. The Greenforest-McCalep Christian Academic Center senior chose the Lady Mocs after visiting UTC last weekend.

"When I was there I had this feeling -- you know, that 'you're at home' feeling?" she said. "After the second day I was there, I just knew."

Johnson said she chose UTC over several schools, including Appalachian State and Georgia State.

Following her junior season, in which she led Greenforest-McCalep to the state tournament for the first time, she earned Class A all-state honorable mention from the Georgia Sports Writers Association and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. She led the Lady Eagles with 28 points and six assists a game and even had a 45-point game.

Not only is Johnson the Lady Eagles' leading scorer, but she also sings the national anthem before every home game. Asked if she'd like to continue that tradition at UTC, she said that might be up to coach Wes Moore.

Johnson is UTC's third commitment, joining forward Arynna Gilbert of Columbia (Tenn.) Central High School and Dade County (Ga.) High School center Ansley Clifton.
