Mother, child found dead in Cherokee County

CHEROKEE COUNTY, NC - A Cherokee County woman and her 10-year-old son are found shot death inside their home, according to investigators.

Cherokee County Sheriff Keith Lovin says the bodies of Alyda Hill, 45, and her 10-year-old son were found by Hill's parents in a bedroom of their home on Marianne Drive just after 8 p.m. Thursday. Hill's parents live next door.

Officers are not calling this a homicide investigation yet and say there is no evidence of a forced entry at the home but there are a lot of unanswered questions.
