Cleveland man dies on park trail
GRAND CANYON, Ariz. — Authorities at the Grand Canyon National Park have released the name of a Cleveland, Tenn., man who collapsed and died on a popular hiking trail.
Park officials said Tuesday that the man was David Roberts, 72.
Officials say they received a 911 call Tuesday morning about an unconscious man on the Bright Angel Trail about 21/2 miles below the canyon's South Rim.
A park emergency medical technician and rangers performed CPR on the man for about an hour before he was declared dead at the scene.
The body was taken to the Coconino County medical examiner to determine the cause of death.
Harley-Davidson store robbed
DALTON, Ga. — Seven Harley Davidson jackets worth $2,700 were stolen from a store in Dalton, Ga., according to the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office.
Five people stole the jackets on Sept. 16 from Mountain Creek Harley Davidson at 1001 Market St., police said. The thieves were in the store for about 30 minutes.

Teen arrested in thefts string
BRADLEY COUNTY, Tenn. — A suspect in a string of battery and heavy-duty construction equipment thefts in Bradley County was arrested Tuesday.
Scottie Lee Higgins, 19, was arrested at his mother's home on Burke Ridge Drive on a charge of theft over $1,000, Bradley County sheriff's spokesman Bob Gault said.
Higgins' mother, Stormy Lee Merriman, 37, and a teenager attempted to stop the arrest, Gault said. Merriman was charged with assault on an officer and resisting arrest, he said, while the teen was placed in a juvenile detention center on related charges.
Police offered a reward for information leading to Higgins' arrest on Aug. 20.
Man, 52, missing for three weeks
WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. — The Whitfield County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who last was seen Sept. 4. Lawrance Douthit, 52, was last seen in the Dogwood Valley Road area.
"We're not sure if he's had some sort of medical incident, or if he just left, or if there are suspicious instances," Maj. John Gibson said.
Douthit is white with gray hair and blue eyes. When he disappeared, he was wearing blue jeans, a red T-shirt and a red baseball hat.
