Dalton police seeking comments from public on operations

The Dalton, Ga., Police Department will hold a public forum at City Hall at 6 p.m. April 8.

Anyone in the city can come to the forum to give their thoughts about the department. The meeting is part of an inspection by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.

CALEA aims to strengthen a police department's ability to prevent crime, formalize how it manages itself and earn the confidence of its community, among other things. The Dalton Police Department first applied to join the CALEA in 2010.
