Chattanooga and East Ridge police apprehended a man wanted for burglary Monday night, according to a news release.

Corey Ryan Harvey, 25, of East Ridge, was arrested outside the Amigo's Restaurant on Brainerd Road after a Chattanooga police officer recognized him.

Earlier in the day, Harvey was caught burglarizing his neighbor's house. The homeowner recognized Harvey and chased him back to his parents house at 400 Cedar Glen Circle.

Harvey fled the area on foot toward Camp Jordan Park.

Police patrol and SWAT Team members responded to the Camp Jordan area to search for Harvey, the release states.

East Ridge SWAT Team members tracked Harvey's footprints across a two mile loop through the wooded areas surrounding the park and back to the Cedar Glen subdivision.

Based on previous behavior exhibited by Harvey while evading police, police returned to his parents' home on Cedar Glen Circle, but Harvey was not there.

After the arrest on Brainerd Road, Harvey was taken to Hamilton County Jail.

Harvey is on probation through the Hamilton County court system for pleading guilty to multiple counts of aggravated burglary. He has also recently been convicted of burglary in Catoosa County.

The East Ridge Court has current active warrants for Harvey for aggravated burglary and theft. Additional charges are pending.
