Man charged with removing US flags in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Huntsville police have arrested a man they say is accused of cutting down American flags from flagpoles around the city.

Authorities say 44-year-old Minh Pham allegedly cut down flags from at least five flag poles in the city.

He was arrested outside a hotel where a flag had been cut down with scissors on Monday.

Police say the man is charged with criminal mischief, flag desecration and resisting arrest.

Pham is originally from Vietnam, but police say he lives in north Alabama. Court records aren't yet available to show if he has a lawyer.
