Man convicted in Cobb County molestation case

MARIETTA, Ga — Cobb County District Attorney’s officials say a man has been convicted of child molestation and will be deported after serving his prison sentence.

District Attorney’s spokeswoman Kim Isaza says 34-year-old Eduardo Hernandez has been convicted of aggravated child molestation and three counts of child molestation for inappropriate contact he had with a girl who is now 7 years old.

Assistant District Attorney Chuck Boring says Hernandez is in the country illegally and will be deported after serving his sentence. Authorities say he could face life in prison plus 60 years.

The man is scheduled to be sentenced April 15 and is being held without bond in the Cobb County jail.
