Hamilton County mayor to raise awareness of sexual abuse

Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger will hold a news conference at noon today on the steps of the Hamilton County Courthouse to raise awareness about sexual abuse.

April is National Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month. Coppinger, along with the Partnership for Families, Children and Adults, will make a presentation about how sexual abuse can be detected and stopped.

Coppinger said Monday the public is encouraged to attend.

"We will be out there at noon, and there will be a presentation. It is such a worthy cause," Coppinger said.
