Fairy tales brought to life in 'Into the Woods'

Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and Jack (of beanstalk fame) are among the characters lurking in Stephen Sondheim's musical "Into the Woods." The production is in its final weekend at Covenant College, 14049 Scenic Highway, Lookout Mountain, Ga.

In addition to the big names, there are several not-so-well-known fairy tales incorporated into the work, which intertwines their stories as they pursue the things they wish for the most. They'll learn, however, that there's a price to be paid for wishes and that happy endings are not always guaranteed.

The production will be presented at 7:30 p.m. today and Friday, April 11-12, and at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13. Tickets are $5 to $15.
