Drive-by shooting injures student at Red Bank High School

A Red Bank High School student is recovering at a hospital after being wounded in what police said was one of two drive-by shootings late Monday night.

Red Bank police said Teddi Robinson, 18, of Spring Valley Lane, was injured when she was shot while driving on McCahill Road.

That shooting was the second one police responded to Monday night. Officers got a call about shot fired just before 11 p.m. in the area of Morrison Springs Road and U.S. Highway 27. Officers found a vehicle that had been struck by bullets three times as the result of an apparent drive-by shooting, according to authorities. The three passengers in the vehicle were not injured.

Witnesses said they saw a black, 4-door sedan leaving the area heading east on Morrison Springs Road and turning north onto McCahill Road.

A short time later, officers were notified of a car crash in the 4400 block of McCahill Road, according to the release. Officers found Robinson suffering from a gunshot wound, apparently the victim of the second drive-by shooting.

Anyone with information about the shootings is asked to call the Red Bank Police Department at 423-875-0167, ext. 2101.
