Hamilton County Commissioners approve zone for Ooltewah development

Hamilton County commissioners today approved a zoning change for an area off Providence Road, despite opposition from surrounding neighbors.

The properties at 8315 and 8417 Providence Road will be changed from agricultural to planned unit development residential.

The commission made the decision with a 7-2 vote over multiple objections from surrounding property owners who are concerned the proposed development will flood their land. Commissioners Chester Bankston and Marty Haynes opposed the change.
