Chattanooga area high school standouts for April 16

• Marisa McCalla, Boyd-Buchanan: She had a double and scored three runs in the Lady Bucs' 7-6 District 5-A softball defeat of Silverdale Baptist.

• Hanna Manley, Rhea County: She went 13 innings in the circle, striking out eight, as the Lady Golden Eagles won a District 5-AAA 13-inning marathon with Bradley Central, 12-11.

• Ashley Irvin, East Ridge: She picked up the pitching win and went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs as the Lady Pioneers edged Red Bank 6-5 in a District 6-AA game.

• Madi Stanley, GPS: She struck out nine as the Bruisers squeezed by Soddy-Daisy, 3-2.

• Brittany Lanham, Sale Creek: She was 3-for-4 with five RBIs in the Lady Panthers' 13-0 four-inning District 6-A victory over Richard Hardy.

• Haley Fugate, Bledsoe County: Both of her hits were doubles and she had three RBIs in the Lady Warriors' 11-3 District 7-AA win over Grundy County.

• Victoria Grider, South Pittsburg: She was 5-for-5 with three doubles and four RBIs as the Lady Pirates defeated Van Buren County 20-1.

• Harlie Jordan, Marion County: She was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and got the save for the Lady Warriors, who defeated Whitwell 3-2.

• Madison Hampton, Meigs County: She was 4-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs in the Lady Tigers' 18-1 win over Sequoyah.

• Tyler Reed, South Pittsburg: He threw a 16-strikeout no-hitter against Lookout Valley, while also going 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs in an 11-0 baseball defeat of Lookout Valley.

• Christian Thompson, Meigs County: He allowed two hits in five innings pitched as the Tigers nipped McMinn Central, 2-1, in District 5-AA baseball.

• Nick Chambers, Notre Dame: Not only did he strike out eight, but he also went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs and two stolen bases in an 8-1 defeat of Grundy County.

• Dominique Dawson, Central: He allowed one hit as Central squashed Red Bank 10-0 in a District 6-AA game.

• Alex Pruitt, Hixson: He went 2-for-3 with two RBIs in the Wildcats' 5-1 win over Tyner.

• Aaron Granger, North Murray: He threw a complete-game shutout with six strikeouts and also had two RBIs as the Mountaineers defeated Coahulla Creek 4-0.

• Chad Butler, Arts & Sciences: He pitched a three-hit shutout with eight strikeouts, helping the Patriots defeat Copper Basin 1-0.

• Caden Ricketts, Soddy-Daisy: He was 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs, helping the Trojans defeat Cleveland 3-2.

• Madison Byrd, Signal Mountain: He had a walk-off RBI single as the Eagles defeated Chattanooga Christian 3-2.

• Chase White, Whitwell: He threw a 10-strikeout no-hitter in one game and was 2-for-2 in the other as the Tigers swept Hamilton Heights in a doubleheader.

• Cal Pickel, Bradley Central: He was hit by pitches three times while adding three RBIs as the Bears defeated Ooltewah 14-5 with a 13-run seventh inning.

• Noe Martinez, Calhoun: His goal was the difference in a 1-0 soccer win over Murray County.

• Marcos Howard, Josh Barbosa and Wilder May, CSAS: Their goals powered CSAS past a 2-0 halftime deficit to a 3-2 defeat of Tyner.

• Tad Whitaker, East Ridge: He had two goals and an assist as the Pioneers defeated Central 7-1.

• Rainer Zarzour, Boyd-Buchanan: He scored the game's first goal in the Bucs' 2-0 win over Silverdale.

• Kyle Johnston, Baylor: He scored the first goal as the Red Raiders defeated Notre Dame 2-0.

• Trey Tucker, Ooltewah: He scored the game's only goal in the first half, helping the Owls defeat 5-AAA rival Cleveland.

• Hunter Long, Heritage: He won at No. 1 singles in the Generals' 4-1 tennis win over Gordon Lee.

• Joel Childers, Walker Valley: He had wins in singles and doubles for the Mustangs, who beat Soddy-Daisy 7-2.

• Peyton Costa, GPS: She had wins in singles and doubles in the Bruisers' 6-3 win over Chattanooga Christian.

• Chloe Mitchell, Soddy-Daisy: Her wins at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles helped the Lady Trojans win their 11th consecutive 5-AAA match, 8-1 over Walker Valley.
