'Cinderella' goes to the ball at Bryan College

Sunday, January 1, 1905

The Hilltop Players at Bryan College in Dayton, Tenn., will present Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella" in three performances this weekend, reviving a production previously offered in 1999.

Shows will start at 7:30 p.m. today through Friday, April 18-20, in Rudd Auditorium.

The Rodgers and Hammerstein version of the classic fairy tale was originally written for television and is based upon the French story. The plot is familiar: A young woman forced into a life of servitude by her cruel stepmother and self-centered stepsisters dreams of a better life. With the help of her Fairy Godmother, Cinderella is transformed into a princess and finds her prince.

Tickets are $11 for adults, $7 for the Bryan community, $9 for a non-Bryan student.
