Tennessee River Valley Association against transferring river water to Georgia

Cline Jones, executive director of the Tennessee River Valley Association, told TVA board members this morning that his group opposes any transfer of Tennessee River water to Georgia.

Jones, whose non-partisan, nonprofit group represents towing companies, barge lines, port and terminal operators, municipalities and related businesses, urged the board to also consider that stance and be very careful about any water transfers from the river.

The board is meeting in Columbia, Tenn.
