There were no injuries from a 7 a.m. fire today at a house at 1709 Wilcox Blvd., according to a Chattanooga Fire Department news release.

Battalion Chief Rick Sewell said the residents were out of the house when the first firefighters arrived.

He said firefighters contained the fire damage to the front of the house. The remainder of the home had smoke and water damage.

The fire department said an oil lamp was used for light in the residence and that the couple living there had gotten into an argument and in the process the oil lamp had been knocked over, starting the fire.

They escaped the fire without injury. Damage to the house and personal property was estimated at $25,000, according to the release.
